The Ware for July 2021 is shown below.
For well over a year now, I haven’t traveled much further than 10km from where I sit and write this. However, sometimes the world brings you interesting things. This ware has a little bit of a story behind it; it arrived, and of course I popped off the cover to see what was inside. It wasn’t quite what I was expecting to see — more on that, after we’ve given some time for people to share their guesses! I imagine this could be a fairly easy one to guess, as most of the components involved in its core functionality are in this view.
nRF52810 Bluetooth 5.2 SoC
Trusignal TS9514 pulse oximetry front end
Reasonably high power looking IR LED with two wavelengths
I’m not sure exactly which unit, but clearly a BT pulse oximetry unit (SpO2 + heart rate, etc).
Probably the Creative Medical PC-60F, which has press from Nordic:

PCB is extremely similar to the later PC-60FW, as shown in the FCC documentation for A49PC-60FW:

Good grief, you’re right. Even down the the colour of the case.
Nice find.
Could also be for analysing opacity of test strips? Albeit there is a distinct lack of dried blood, so your use case seems more likely.
Nice! I looked at this one and thought surely I can figure THIS one out. Nope! couldn’t find the 9514. My best guess was some kind of UV exposure monitor. Did you just guess the manufacturer for the 9514 or is there a smarter way to figure out these brandless chips?
I got lucky with a Google for “9514 qfn-16” :-)
Inside a lateral flow Covid test.
